Yes, those beautiful yellow flowers you see everywhere! Dandelion leaf or even dandelion root powder can make a great addition to any of your creations! While most well-known for its culinary and medicinal purposes, this wonderful flower can be used for so many other different products and industries. There are many dandelion uses for hair care, bath and body products, skin care, and soap making! Did you know that it’s thought that dandelions even have magical powers? Supposedly, when used in a tea, dandelions will increase your psychic ability and divination!

Some common bath and body products that can include dandelion leaf or root powder are face masks, scrubs, bath bombs, bath teas, lotions, ointments, creams, soaps, shampoos and conditioners, and massage oils. There are many amazing medicinal benefits to using dandelion as well. It contains many important minerals and vitamins such as vitamins A, C, and D, as well as zinc, copper, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. Native Americans actually used to use boiled dandelion as treatment for kidney disease, upset stomach, many skin problems, and swelling. There is quite a wide variety of conditions that can treated with dandelion such as congestive heart failure, flatulence, constipation, diarrhea, heart burn, jaundice, edema and diabetes. Dandelion can help to improve your memory as well as working to reduce high cholesterol levels, and lowering blood pressure levels. Because this flower is so high in many important nutrients, it is very effective in working to prevent conditions like cancer, stroke, macular degeneration, multiple sclerosis, and even cataracts. In traditional Chinese medicine, dandelion was used to treat breast problems including inflammation and lack of milk flow, appendicitis, and stomach pains. There is even a substance contained in dandelions called mannitol that is used to treat hypertension.
