Stop motion animation has grown up alot since the days of the jerky, wobbly Rudolph and his elf buddy with all the dental dreams. No more pipe cleaner arms or blinking eyes made out of construction paper. Thank you, Tim Burton.
Look at this amazing vid of the animated sculpture MÖBIUS. Installed and animated over two weekends throughout Melbourne’s Federation Square in May 2011, life size triangles come to life as they dig, dive and eat themselves in and out of the ground. The whole thing plays some serious tricks on your eyeballs, and is way cooler than any fruit bowl still life at the Museum.
Even if Art ain’t yo’ thang this is very DanCool, and since there’s no reality TV on right now…check it out.
