Dan Croll and Panama Wedding Played Bowery Ballroom [photos]

Dan Croll and Panama Wedding stopped by NYC last week to play a sold out show at Bowery Ballroom. Panama Wedding kicked off the night with a set of unreleased songs, all of which I’ve been anxiously waiting to hear. Since the release of their single “All of the People” in 2013, the electropop group has sold out shows in NYC, signed to Glassnote and left fans yearning for more. The new material in the band’s set stayed true to the happy synth pop sound of “All of the People”, my personal favorite being an upbeat, island-y jam called “Feels Like Summer”.

Dan Croll and his band’s endearing performance that night proved that it’s possible to be in love with five people at once. Dan Croll recently released his debut LP Sweet Disarray, and, to my delight, the group played every song from the album. There was no dull moment that night, for Croll and his band impeccably executed the perfect pop harmonies in “Sweet Disarray” (shout out to the bass player’s incredibly low vocal part!) and got the crowd moving during fan favorites like “Can You Hear Me” and “From Nowhere.”

Before the show ended, Dan Croll invited a fan celebrating her birthday onto the stage and got the packed ballroom to serenade her with “Happy Birthday”. Then, encouraged by the band, the birthday girl timidly dove into the audience and crowd-surfed while screaming “best birthday ever!” Indeed, it was a great night of delightful pop for all!
