My favorite Detroit natives are back in action with a new cool ass track embodying the coolest guy in history, James Dean. Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr get down with a lot of auto-tune mechanics in this melancholy and slow-paced track, combining plodding bass and inspiring harmonies for almost three minutes to create a picturesque electronic wonderland.
It’s yet another ace in the hole for the guys who released their sophomore album, The Speed Of Things late last year, receiving a massive amount of fanfare following. Anyone who knows anything about DEJrJr know that these guys are serious musos and it shows in the quality and diverse nature of their catalog.
The real excitement in this release, however, lies in the B-Side from the single entitled Revelation Blues. Strangely, despite being a b-side it is clearly the stronger of the two tracks released recently, carrying with it a lot more of that retro suave than the lead single. It’s a lot catchier and timeless than James Dean. But geez, it’s the best of an epic bunch so who’s complaining?
Revelation Blues isn’t yet available for streaming online, however I strongly suggest you download the song off iTunes or Spotify and chill to it all weekend long.
