Daily Haiku and Writing Prompt (April 23, 2019)

Posted on the 23 April 2019 by Cendrinemedia @cendrinemedia

This is Waimea Canyon in Kauai, Hawaii.

Waimea (meaning "reddish water" in Hawaiian) Canyon, a.k.a the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, is 16 kilometres long and 900 metres deep. A number of geological events have chiseled it over a period of 5 million years. One of them is erosion with the Waimea River and extreme rainfall on Mount Waiʻaleʻale, one of the wettest places on earth.

The peak receives an average of 11,500 mm of water every year!

Your turn now! Write a haiku, six-word story or short poem based on the image above. If you prefer publishing the piece on your blog, please link to this prompt there. For example: Poem inspired by Cendrine Marrouat's daily visual prompt.
