My Dad!
As a kid, I was closer to you than I was to Mom. Both, Mom and you are pretty strict. But you've also always pampered me. You're the one who has spoiled me... I still remember running up to you and hiding behind you, when Mom would run behind me with a stick in her hand when I did something very bad.
You believe in bringing up kids with love and care and not being harsh, and by telling them what is good and what is bad. I got my cool attitude, happy-go-lucky nature from you. My eyes and nose are exactly like yours..
You're a cool guy who enjoys every little happiness in life, you're ambitious, forgiving and kind. You support me when I'm right, and show me the right path when I'm not.

You taught me A B C and One Two Three. I learnt my first sentence in English from you, 'My name is Manju and I'm 3 years old'. You taught me to draw squares, triangles, and circles and to use crayons. If I have a good handwriting today, its because of you. I learnt using 'Thank you', 'Welcome' and 'Please'. I got my hobbies from you...Chess and photography...You made me what I'm today.
I feel free to tell you my problems...You have answer to all of them. I fight with you, argue with you and get angry too. But only to still be loved unconditionally.
Sometimes you are overprotective, but now that I'm grown up and know the world...I know the reason why. If you have scolded me for not studying, I know it was my fault. You've been with me since ever...Good times and the worst too.You have been a great Dad.
I want to write something for you Dad...please excuse me though...You know how bad I am at poetry.But I want to do it still...for you...

My Daddy Dearest..To my heart...You are the nearest...I know you remember only the moments of joy..Coz you are a Happy-go-lucky guy...
When I recall my bad days..You were there for me...standing by my side always..When I was fed-up and had become frustrated..You were there to take care..
When I was fourI got my foot sprained in the bicycle wheel..I didn't know how did it happen..Pain was all I could feel..It was a fracture...I had a cast..I remember your worried face..though its a thing of the past..While I was crying...A doll you were buying...To pacify me..To calm me down..To make me forget my pain..
When I was eightA firecracker had hit me in my face..I had fallen unconscious at the gate...The wound was bleeding at a fast pace..You rushed me to the doc..I was fine soon...But you were still in a shock..You scolded me for going out alone...For you had told me not to...I broke into tears..crying uncontrollably...You said sorry and hugged me tight..And promised, with me you'll never fight..To pacify me..To calm me down..To make me forget my pain..
When I was eleven..And too sick..And underwent a surgery..I couldn't talk..I could just cry..I remember you getting me loads and loads of Ice-cream..Vanilla and strawberry..To pacify me..To calm me down..To make me forget my pain..
Even today, when I'm in troubled waters..And have no clue..I look up to God for an answer...And he reminds me I have you!!!
Thanks Dad...For being there always....
