I had the pleasure of attending the Cynthia Rowley Spring 2015 NYFW presentation as a guest of Birchbox, the exclusive backstage sponsor. The show took place on Tuesday, 09/09/14 at the Swiss Institute in Soho. Incidentally this was also the space that hosted the Chanel Little Black Jacket Exhibition. Cynthia Rowley's design aesthetic has consistently been fresh, feminine and whimsical and this collection was no exception with the addition of a modernized 60's/70's vibe. The models were presented atop pedestals in splashy graphic pastel prints and large scale cutout appliqués and floral lace on swingy trapeze dresses and tunic and flared pants sets. The presentation dubbed #CRlandia also included the designer's activewear line which featured a selection of modern athletic wear that juxtaposed sporty function with pretty details like metallic gold flowers and lettering to scallops on a pair of running shorts.
