Cute Dog Comforts Owner with Potatoes and Other Gifts

By Eowyn @DrEowyn

This true account of the kindness and noble heart of a little terrier named Zeus makes me weep.

Service dogs, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), are “dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.”

Zeus is the service dog of a woman named Drovie, who is going through some really tough times.

Zeus is so empathic that he brings little “gifts” to comfort his mistress when she is down.

Drovie recounts a recent gift on tumblr:

“Today therapy was really hard. I was sitting here crying, and generally being miserable, when I felt a nudge at my knee. I looked down to see that Zeus, my service dog, was doing his job… and brought me a potato. It is very hard to cry with the gift of a potato.”

Drovie didn’t know where the potato had come from.

Later, she posted again:

“Remember this?  I’m having a rough time right now. Zeus has a solution. That would be an empty pill bottle . . . a bottle of embossing powder, and two, TWO potatoes.”
