Reading...Consumed: The Need for Collective Change: Colonialism, Climate Change, and Consumerism PaperbackI shifted away from fast fashion some years ago because I wanted to build a more sustainable wardrobe and if I hadn't already, this book would certainly make me think twice. The author talks about the correlation of overconsumption and the climate crisis which is nothing new but she also discusses how the fashion industry is rooted in colonialism and racism as well as how these factors play into how fast fashion is produced in sweat shop conditions where workers aren’t earning living wages. It's an eye opening read that reminds us that we can all do better.CONTINUE READING ≫
