Crispy Honey Arbi (Colocasia Root) Wedges

The sixth day of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Katyayani, who is one of the most powerful forms of Shakti. Also known as the warrior goddess, Katyayani is considered to be the most violent forms of Goddess Parvati. She has four arms and carries a sword fearlessly. She is the daughter of Sage Katyayan and rides on a lion. Many devotees offer honey to the Goddess on the 6th day of the Navratri as it is considered to be the symbol of both health and sweetness.

Keeping the same in mind, today I have prepared a unique recipe known as the crispy honey Arbi wedges. Check out the full recipe below: 

Ingredients:-

  • 6-7 big size Arbi (Colocasia Root)
  • 1/2 cup roasted coarsely grinded peanuts
  • Rajgira aata for coating 
  • Oil for fry
  • For peanuts honey coating 
  • 2 TBS honey
  • 2 green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • Sendha namak
  • 1 tsp Lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera powder
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:-

  • Boil the Arbi in cooker by just taking one whistle. 
  • Cool the Arbi (Colocasia Root)
  • peel and then slice Arbi in wedges. 
  • Coat the wedges in rajgira flour. 
  • Heat the oil in kadai fry the Arbi wadges in low to medium flame. Till they become golden brown in color. Fry all the wedges and keep aside 
  • For honey peanut sauce 
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in pan add finely chopped chilli garlic, saute for sec. Then add coarsely grinded peanuts powder, and honey mix it well, if mixture has become dry then add 1tbs water. Switch off the flame add lime juice and salt mix it well. 
  • Now add fried Arbi wedges in it. Shake and toss the pan so that the honey peanuts coats each Arbi wedge uniformly and well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves 
  • Crispy honey Arbi ready to bhog.
