Outdoor weddings create such a great opportunity to be creative, and there are a few trends for these events that we are loving right now. Some couples have been getting innovative with their seating arrangements as well as the actual furniture they are using and it really gives their weddings a unique look! Check out two of our favorite ideas for trading in the traditional style of wedding seating for something fresh:
- When a ceremony is outdoors, it gives you much more freedom to design the seating arrangement in a creative and personal way. A popular choice is to face all of the chairs toward a central point that serves as the altar, so that guests on all sides have a view of the couple. We really love this winding aisle arrangement — it looks very elegant and gives each guest a front-row seat as the bride walks by.
- Another idea for having a fresh take on wedding seating is to use unconventional furniture. For example, instead of using folding chairs to form the aisle for a ceremony, use long rustic benches. These provide space for a large number of people and don’t require as much work as setting up dozens of chairs. They also have a look that is reminiscent of church pews, bringing an aspect of traditional weddings into an outdoor setting. If the benches you find aren’t too comfortable, add some pillows or cushions in your wedding colors.
In addition to swapping chairs for benches during your ceremony, try bringing in oversized armchairs and comfortable sofas to replace traditional reception furniture. By using these indoor furnishings outdoors, you give your wedding a level of added sophistication and comfort.
