The Internet is a wonderful place to work, play and study. But don't let that fact make you blind to its down side. The Net can be no more and no less than a mirror of the real world, and that means it also contains electronic versions of real life problems. Stalking and harassment are problems that many people are familiar with in real life, including myself.
Let’s first begin with a clear definition of a stalker: to pursue or approach (game, prey, etc.) stealthily; to follow or pursue (another person) persistently in a harassing and, typically, obsessive way.
Let's also get another thing straight. Although we hear more about women being cyberstalked, it DOES happen to men as well. Women can be leaches just as some men, at times even worse in my opinion!
What psychological weakness leads them to practice such childish activity? I'll never understand. Cyberstalkers, like vampires, suck the life blood of victims, in order to go about living their lives. Their victims are innocent, while cyberstalkers live in a mad delusional world. Their warped imagination drives them to stalk repeatedly. Their evil hearts and deranged minds are never satisfied as they follow you around on your Facebook account... your Twitter account... and even your personal pages such as on Blogger. Heck, I left Wordpress for the sole purpose to get away from my cyberstalking chick from hell!!!
Cyberstalkers totally lack compassion and respect for others. They are the sick ones. Lucious Seneca was right: "... All cruelty stems from weakness..." So with that said, I say to all you good people that if someone is cyberstalking you, let that weakened and heartsick cyberstalker know this: they have no power to destroy our friendships... our reputations... our loving and devoted relationships... etc. They can waste their time all they want, but we will not think twice about them!
I have had a cyberstalker and she is a freaken nutcase!!! Just when I thought she had disappeared from my life *poof* she reappeared but this time anonymously. How convenient for her! She's nothing but a mere gnat that flies around me with no purpose in life. Bothersome but not life threatening. It's a real shame that some people just cannot understand the phrase: 'stay away from me' ... 'not interested'... 'no emails, texts or calls'... 'lay off!!!'... for what they mean. Seriously, why don't people get the message even after you’ve spelled it out five different ways?
How does one deal with this kind of situation, you ask? Simple, either RUN FOR THE HILLS or take a bazooka and blow them to smithereens! Personally that’s what I want to do, but you might want to invest a little time researching a few other options first.
None the less, today I sent my 'cyberstalking chick from hell' an email after stressing over her return to get my point across:
“Dear cyberstalker chick from hell, if you continue to visit my Twitter account or Blogger page one more time I am personally going to reach my hands through your screen and shove your face inside the nearest garbage disposal toilet. STAY THE F**K AWAY FROM ME, for once and all!!”
Seriously, if you find yourself in this type of situation I have come to the belief that it's best not to address the stalker (even though it feels damn good to put them in their place - under the bridge along with the other trolls), but to just block their accounts from your profile(s), flag their comments, and go on about your business. Even if the stalking, is getting to you in any way, it's best not to let the stalker know this because that's what the stalker wants. It gives them a sense of power and accomplishment. If they see they are getting under your skin, they will continue to harass. Stand your ground, and eventually the stalker will go elsewhere.
Do NOT allow any cyberstalker to diminish your enjoyment on the web.
I'm not going too!
