COVID jab for 16-17 age group begins The vaccination of children between 16 and 17 years has commenced countrywide today.

Health Services Director-General Dr.Asela Gunawardena said the Principals, Zonal Directors of Education and the District Health Services Directors will decide on age groups that will be vaccinated first.

All MOH offices have been advised to carry out the vaccination campaign as a school-based programme and also the Central Clinic of the MOH and base hospitals will function only on Saturdays to vaccinate students who miss the school-based vaccination
