The Colombo Magistrate’s Court yesterday issued an order preventing former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal from traveling overseas.
The Additional Magistrate Harshana Kekunawela made this order pursuant to an application filed by former southern province governor Keerthi Tennakooon.
The application filed by Tennekoon accused Cabraal of misusing public funds during his tenure as the governor of the central bank.
The Additional Magistrate further issued notices on the former Central Bank Governor to appear before Court on April 18.
