For the first product review of 2019, I will be talking about this product I've been using since November. I love their One Step Pimple Clear Pad, so upon learning this one has Centella Asiatica I became interested in this since its announcement. Unfortunately, at that time, it was only available in South Korea. Luckily, the shop where I bought my CosRx Sebum Centella Mineral Powder offered to gift me this product in exchange for a review. Well, did I end up loving this product too? Scroll down to read my CosRx One Step Green Hero Calming Pad review.
WHAT IS IT?
The CosRx One Step Green Hero Calming Pad focuses on weak acid exfoliation and soothing properties for sensitive skin.
INGREDIENTS
It contains 75% green tea water, 0.25% PHA, and "Green-Rx complex", consisting of dandelion leaf for soothing and reinforces skin barrier; Centella Asiatica for also soothing and improving skin texture; witch hazel for also soothing and hydrating; tea tree leaf for sebum and pore care; and mugwort extract for also soothing and vitality care. Lastly, it is alcohol-free. You can read more its full ingredient list and analysis in Skin Carisma.
PERFORMANCE
APPLICATION: Swipe the embossing side across the face avoiding eye area after cleansing. And then swipe the softer side across the face to pick up the remaining debris. Lastly, replace the lid tightly to make sure the pads stay wet and clean.
SCENT: It has a sweet citrus scent, like a lemonade.
PACKAGING: Just like the previous CosRx One Step Pads, the Calming Green Hero is also packaged in a jar with a screw cap which has a drawing of Mr. CosRx on top. This one though comes in white and green. And each jar contains 70 pads.
FORMULA: It doesn't show on the photo, but the pads are slightly green.
RESULT
Because of its scent, the CosRx One Step Green Hero Calming Pad feels refreshing while swiping on your skin. However, it feels a little tacky while it settles on my skin. But when it did, my skin feels moisturized, smoother, and looks a little dewy. But did it calm my skin? Well, I used this during the time I was having a really bad breakout, and it does not really have an instant effect if you're just going to swipe it on your face. I suggest you stick a pad on areas where you want your skin to calm down like your cheeks and keep it for 5 minutes or less, just like toner masking.
The only downside I see on this product is the witch hazel ingredient. Some people like it while some don't, particularly people which suffer from rosacea because will witch hazel irritates their skin.
VERDICT
PROS: It moisturizes the skin, makes it smoother and dewy. It also feels refreshing and calms the skin when left for more than a minute.
CONS: It contains witch hazel that will not suit those with rosacea.
