Coraline Rag Doll

By Vixenmade @vixenMade

About a year ago, my daughter first watched Coraline.

I wasn't sure she should watch it since she was barely 4 years old.
But I watched it with her and she loved it.
And since then, she had wanted a Coraline doll.

I decided I would make her a rag doll.  They seemed easy enough.
I went with the red shirt/jeans and yellow raincoat outfit.

I'm still undecided on making yellow boots.  We'll see.

And I created the dragonfly hairclip she wears out of felt.

And of course, I stuck with the button eyes, like Coraline's doll in the movie.

I made her face a kind of 'cutesy'.  If you've seen the movie, it can seem a little creepy.  And I didn't want her to look creepy, I mean, she's for a little girl to play with.

Here's some tutorials I used to create her: Rag Doll Tutorial:  Miss Gioia Doll Hair Tutorial:  Tantehilde & Crafty Sheep
The rest of it, I just improvised.  And since it took forever to finish her, I couldn't put together any tutorials myself.

Most importantly, my daughter loves it.  And she was excited to finally get to play with it.  After all, it took me almost a year to make it.

See you all tomorrow!
