Cool Homemade Summer Face Packs to Protect Your Skin

Summer means high temperature and hot sunny days and nights. You sweat a lot, whether you go out or remain inside your house. Summer is the time when you face a lot of skin problems, especially if you have oily skin. Oily skin is very much prone to acne and pimples. When you have oily skin, the secretion of oil by the skin is increased in the summer months. This, along with lots of sweat and dirt, leads to breakouts and other such problems. If you go to a beauty parlor to treat your skin, it can prove to be very expensive. But there are many homemade face packs that are ideal for oily skin in summer. These are not expensive and are more effective. This can control the secretion of oil in the skin and keeps your skin clear and blemish free.

Homemade Summer Face Packs

Summer Face packs that you can make at Home:

Almonds and honey face pack:

Ingredients Required:

  • Honey
  • Almonds

Preparation Method:

Take ten almonds and soak them in water overnight. Grind these almonds in to a fine paste next morning and add one teaspoon of honey to it. Mix well and apply this face pack on your face. Let it remain on your face about 15 minutes and then wash off with water. This makes your face clean and glowing.

Multani mitti face pack:

Ingredients Required:

  • Rose water
  • Multani mitti

Preparation Method:

This face pack is very easy to make and is very effective for oily skin. Just take some multani mitti and mix it with rose water so that you get a smooth paste. Apply this on your face and the neck. You can lie down and put cotton pads dipped in rose water over your eyes. Lie down for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash off with water. This will make your skin fresh and rejuvenated.

Neem, rose water and orange face mask:

Ingredients Required:

  • Neem
  • Sandalwood
  • Orange
  • Multani mitti (fuller’s earth)
  • Lemon juice
  • Honey
  • Rose water

Preparation Method:

Take multani mitti, sandalwood, neem and orange in equal quantities and in powdered form. Mix them well. You need not run here and there in search of these products. You will get all of them in the ayurvedic store. Mix all the four ingredients well. You can blend them in a mixer grinder so that you get a fine mix. You can store this mixture in a jar, so that you can use it whenever you need it. Take one or two teaspoons of this mixture in a bowl and add about quarter of a spoon of honey to it. Then add half a teaspoon of lemon juice also. Now you may add rose water to the mixture and make a fine and smooth paste. Apply this face pack on your face as well as on your neck. Let it stay for about15 to 20 minutes and then wash off with plain water. This face pack is an excellent pack for those having oily skin in summer months.

Orange and oats face pack:

Ingredients Required:

  • Oats
  • Fresh orange
  • Honey
  • Egg white or curd

Preparation Method:

Try to use fresh orange for making this face pack. Take 3 teaspoons of oats, 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of egg white or curd and 2 teaspoons of fresh orange. Mix all of them well so that you get a paste. Apply this on your face and let it remain for a few minutes. Now use this to mildly scrub your face with light circular motions. This will remove all dirt and excess oil from your face. Wash off with water.

Rice flour and turmeric face pack:

Ingredients Required:

  • Turmeric
  • Rice flour
  • Honey
  • Cucumber juice

Preparation Method:

Take three teaspoons of rice flour and a pinch of turmeric in a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of honey and then cucumber juice to make a fine paste. Apply this on your face and wait for a few minutes. Now wash off with water after scrubbing it mildly on your face with gentle circular motion. If you make it in large quantity, you can use it as a body pack.

Tomato juice face pack:

Ingredients Required:

  • Rice flour
  • Tomato juice
  • Honey

Preparation Method:

Take fresh juice of tomato and mix it with 3 teaspoons of rice flour and 1 teaspoon of honey. Mix them well and apply on your face. Wait for 15 minutes and then wash off with water. If you are busy and have not much time in hand, you can just slice a tomato in to half and rub the half tomato on your skin. Rub it in circular motion for about 15 minutes. Make sure that it the flesh side of tomato that is rubbed on the skin.

Important Information related to these Face Packs:

  • Almonds are good for making your skin smooth and soft.
  • Egg white and oats help in making your skin tight. This way they are good for reducing wrinkles and fine lines, and keep your skin young looking for a longer time.
  • Honey and lemon when added to face pack, help in healing scars. They also remove dark spots and other blemishes from the face.
  • Neem, sandalwood and turmeric are antiseptic in nature. So they protect your skin from bacteria, virus and other infections.
  • Rose water and cucumber juice are excellent for toning your skin.
  • Rice flour, multani mitti, oranges and tomatoes have the ability to absorb excess oil from the skin and therefore help in controlling the secretion of oil on the skin.

All these packs are excellent for oily skin in summer. You can select a pack that suits your skin type. Along with the use of these packs, it is important that you drink lots of water. If you feel any itching, tingling or burning on the skin, wash off the face pack without any delay and apply a lotion to soothe your skin.
