Welcome back to Cooking with Kids! Today we are sharing banana recipes with my fellow bloggers.
My family loves bananas which is great because they are a great source of energy, potassium and magnesium. Yet sometimes we have some bananas in the fruit bowl. They start to go brown and no one wants to eat them! This recipe is for those bananas my friends. Cut up those ripe bananas and put them in the fridge for another day to make this lovely, healthy banana ice cream.
When I first made this, my kids were not impressed with the idea of banana ice cream. But once they tasted it, they loved it. These days, we make it together. I supervise them whilst they put they put the ingredients in thefood processor and blend them together. Easy, peasy and healthy, no sugar added ice cream!
Ingredients:
Three frozen (cut up) bananas,
Chopped nuts and/or berries (optional)
Half a glass of milk (I use plant based milk)
Put the bananas in a food processor and blend for a few minutes until it reaches a smooth thick consistency. Add few spoons of more milk if necessary.
Top with berries, chocolate chips, cacao nibbs or nuts.
Enjoy!
This post will be updated with a printable recipe and links to other banana recipes later today.
