Cooking with Kids: A is for Apple Peanut Butter Balls
This is a nice little healthy snack that we like. It is easy enough for my Defne (8 years old) to make it independently. The only thing I did for her was peeling the apples. Younger children would also need help and guidance with grating the apples. If your child has never used a grater before, I suggest you start them with  a smaller size grater and teach them how to use if safely.

Ingredients:
2 small apples 3 heaped  tablespoons of crunchy peanut butter 6 tablespoons of oatmeal 2 handfuls of  dried cranberries some desiccated coconut (for rolling the balls in)

Peel and grate the apples. In a bowl mix all the ingredients except the coconut. You may need to add some more peanut butter if the mixture is not coming together. Make little balls and roll them  in the coconut.

You can add raisins, chocolate chips or sub almond butter with peanut butter.
