The Cookies & Cream Freeze dessert.
I found the recipe at the Kraft foods website. But I altered a few things to what I already had in the pantry.
Here's what you need: Oreo cookies Oreo crumbs (optional; you can just crush up more oreo cookies.. but I was lazy. Didn't we already establish that?) Chocolate chips Cool whip (Fat Free for me!) Cream cheese (Light, of course) Sugar Vanilla extract
First things first, get yourself a loaf pan and line the inside with foil.
Next, cover the bottom of your pan with Oreo cookies. You should be able to fit 8 along the bottom.
Using your mixer, whip together your cream cheese, 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/2 tsp of vanilla.
Once smooth, stir in 2 cups of whipped topping.
Pour 1 cup of chocolate chips into a microwave safe measuring cup and heat 1 minute at a time until your chips are melted.
Place about 1 1/2 cups of your cream cheese mixture and the melted chocolate chips into a bowl and stir together.
Add the leftover cream cheese mixture to your loaf pan and spread evenly.
Take 3/4 cup of your Oreo crumbs and pour over that layer. If you don't have the crumbs, crush up about 6 Oreo cookies and spread over the layer instead.
Press gently into the pan with the back of a spoon.
Now you can add the chocolate/cream cheese mixture on top, spreading evenly.
Freeze your dessert for about 3 hours. Once firm, slice and serve! I found the Oreo's very difficult to cut through, so may have to remove and cut them separately for each piece. But other than that this was delicious!!!
My hubby is a big fan of cookies and cream, and an even bigger fan of cheesecake. So this was a hit!
And for me, it calmed my craving (and fulfilled my constant chocolate craving, too!).
