A combination of rushed mornings, a nagging sister who wants to get out of the door and a general desire to get rid of the heavy bases I was wearing on my skin have had me skipping foundation altogether for the past couple of months now. It's been going great and although I don't think it's done anything to actually improve the condition of my skin, it's great to feel fresh faced without slap I don't need and the extra couple of minutes in bed are always nice too.
For days where I still do need a little coverage though, there have been three concealers that I've been turning to more than any others:
Tropic Illuma Brightening Concealer - Now these first two recommendations don't quite fit into the 'concealer' category. A more budget friendly alternative to the YSL Touche Eclat, this brightening liquid is perfect for under the eyes and highlighting high points on the face to give the skin a subtle glow. Dispensed in a clicky pen, it's great to carry on the go with you and offers light coverage anywhere else you might need it.
Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener - Again, like above this has practically no coverage at all but the salmon color and creamy formula help brighten up the eye area like no other, hiding blue circles and any evidence of the rough night you may have had the night before. My favorite way to trick the world into thinking that I actually sleep.
Clarins Instant Concealer - Everyone's favorite on the blogosphere and it's not hard to see why. It covers redness, blemishes and under eye bags with decent but a light feeling coverage. The formula blends in so smoothly with either a finger or a brush, looks so lovely and natural on the skin and you need so little the tube is sure to last you forever.
An au natural base? Sorted.
What about you, do you like skipping the heavy stuff?
