Ludwick Mamabolo wins the Comrades Marathon 2012 in a time of 5:31:03. The first victory by a South African since 2005 was a dream come true for Mamabolo who came seventh last year.
Elena Nurgalieva won the women’s race for the seventh time, and the third time in a row with her fastest time. Ellie Greenwood from the UK who was 4th last year also had a faster race taking 24 minutes of her 2011 time to finish in second place.
