Comparison Between Pixel and OnePlus Launcher

Posted on the 16 February 2023 by Umargeeks

Now, we are learning about the Comparison between Pixel and OnePlus Launcher. We shall try to cover the comparison of both mobile phones.

There are several different launchers on the Google Play Store. Although some are compensated, others are gratuitous. Well-known launchers like Nova, Action, Apex, and Microsoft have been extensively discussed and written about. We even compared them to one another.

We decided to examine the stock launchers offered by the OnePlus and Pixel phones in this article. These launchers won’t let you down if you want simple stuff, but none of them can match the modifications provided by third-party launchers.

Which is superior, though? The comparison between the OnePlus and Pixel Launchers has the solution to the query mentioned earlier. Now let’s get going.

HOME SCREEN CUSTOMIZABLE

You should be able to customize the home screen’s columns and rows with a suitable launcher. One of the factors that cause consumers to switch to third-party launchers is the absence of this capability.

It’s odd that although the home screen layout for OnePlus Launcher may be customized, there isn’t one for Pixel Launcher. You may adjust the icon size in the OnePlus Launcher and the number of columns, ranging from 3 to 5.

A SKETCH WIDGET

Our phones’ home screens receive the majority of our users. They are the initial screen on the launcher. Some want a lot of control and information on the home screen, while some prefer to keep their home screens as simple as possible.

On the home screen of the Pixel Launcher, there is a widget called “At a Glance.” The calendar widget also shows flight information and traffic warnings. On the OnePlus Launcher, this feature is absent; all that provides is a clock with the date shown beneath it.

Oddly, the Pixel Launcher’s At a Glance widget doesn’t mention the clock. You will need to add a separate clock widget that will take up more space if you choose to have a watch on the home screen.

Google added the At a Glance widget in a recent update to its Google app. As a result, all smartphones may now utilize the Pixel Launcher At a Glance widget. After launching the widgets, all that’s required is a few clicks to reach Google and the At a Glance widget.

THE SURFING BAR

Moreover, the bottom dock of Pixel Launcher contains a persistent Google search bar. The OnePlus Launcher does come with a dock, but the search bar is absent. The Google search widget may add to any location on your home screen, excluding the dock, if you desire a search bar.

The search bar has been permanently fixed at the bottom of Pixel Launcher, unlike other launchers like Action and Nova which allow you the option to move it. Up until recently, the top of the page included a search bar.

Better would have been for them to have allowed us to choose the position of the object. No, however! Moreover, none of the launchers has a dock-off switch. It cannot have additional pages added.

DOTS OF NOTIFICATION

On Pixel phones before Android Oreo, unread notification badges did not supportthe Pixel Launcher, therefore users had to install third-party launchers. Both the OnePlus and Pixel Launchers now support notification dots thanks to Google’s addition of the feature in Android Oreo.

Remember that they both only support dots. I think dots are stupid. There is so much more logic in the unread notification count. Both applications, however, allow you to turn off notification dots if you don’t like the idea of having an unread badge.

GROUP FEEDS; Comparison between Pixel and OnePlus Launcher

These launchers respond to swipes from the left edge in two different ways. The well-known Google Feed is available in the Pixel Launcher, whereas the OnePlus shelf is available in the OnePlus Launcher. There are current applications, contacts, and memos on the shelf. OnePlus Launcher doesn’t support Google Feed.

SHORTCUTS IN THE APP; Comparison between Pixel and OnePlus Launcher

Google implemented app shortcuts in Android Nougat. On the app’s home screen, you may access these frequently used actions. App shortcuts are supported by both launchers.

These differ, though, in how consumers are presented with different app selections. App shortcuts and a little info symbol are displayed when you hold an app icon in Pixel Launcher. To access the Delete and Uninstall options, press down on the icon and drag it.

With the OnePlus Launcher, this is different. Just holding an app icon gives you access to all three options—Info, Delete, and Uninstall. Another feature that Pixel Launcher lacks is the ability to modify app names and icons. You also have this option.

PUBLIC APP DRAWER; Comparison between Pixel and OnePlus Launcher

The app drawers in both launcher applications are comparable. You receive a list of programs in a vertical format, with the most utilized ones at the top. With OnePlus, the top search bar is its own, but the Google search bar is present in Pixel Launcher.

Curiously, when you hit the search bar on the OnePlus, the folder names instantly show. Whichever name you tap will display all of the programs in that folder.

THE FOLDERS; Comparison between Pixel and OnePlus Launcher

The main screen of both applications supports folders, but the app drawer does not. In other words, the app drawer does not allow you to create folders.

Yet, when it comes to folders, OnePlus Launcher has a tiny advantage over Pixel Launcher. It can give the names of the folders on its own. For instance, the launcher will automatically give it a suitable name if you choose two social applications. If you don’t like the given name, you can alter it.

PACKS AND ICON STYLE; Comparison between Pixel and OnePlus Launcher

Icon packs’ accessibility is a significant feature for some users of launchers. While you may alter the icon shapes in both launchers, Pixel Launcher offers a wider variety. The forms available in Pixel Launcher include square, rounded square, squircle, and teardrop. Round and square are the only available forms in the OnePlus Launcher.

While other launchers, including Pixel Launcher, lack this capability, OnePlus Launcher allows you to download and install third-party icon packs directly from the settings menu.

THE ACTIONS; Comparison between Pixel and OnePlus Launcher

To access notifications, one of the motions that are widely used is to “swipe down” from the home screen. Regrettably, Pixel Launcher does not offer the same. Not just that. The only gesture supported by Pixel Launcher is the swipe down on the fingerprint sensor to reach the notification panel.

While the swipe-down launcher supports the OnePlus Launcher, additional motions seen in third-party launchers are also absent.

WHAT IS MISPLACED; Comparison between Pixel and OnePlus Launcher

Both rockets have many similarities. OnePlus Launcher does not include Google feed, whereas Pixel Launcher does not provide gestures or possibilities for customizing the home screen. Moreover, Pixel Launcher lacks appropriate themes. On a OnePlus smartphone, the Display Settings are where you may alter the device theme.

If you desire Pixel Launcher on your Android smartphone, you may install the Rootless Pixel 2 Launcher or download the Lawnchair Launcher from the Play Store, both of which offer all the functionality of Pixel Launcher.
