Art & Design Magazine
We've made it!
We've arrived at the last of the six posts on my comic strip submission for the big five American Syndicates, and as promised, here are all 30 for your reading pleasure.
But what comes next?
Well that's straight forward enough. What happens next---as with any new comic strip or panel--- is this: Once they have been to the US syndicates, and assuming they fail to find a buyer, is I send them around the national UK newspapers, if that comes to nothing then I look to place them in specialist magazines that may fit their subject matter, and if that fails then I put them up on my cartoonstock page and sell them individually with reprint rights to any interested parties worldwide who may just want the one strip to work along side their article, newsletter, website or product.
While that is going on then the next feature will be doing it's rounds and after that the next until something hits. Of course I always hope, with any feature that I send out, that 'it' will be the one that sells and secures my future as a syndicated cartoonist.
But so as not to be putting all my eggs in one basket, I keep ideas flowing.
But that said, here's the whole 30 strips, including the ones already published.
Tales from 'Toonsville written and illustrated by Karl Dixon
Next week, as promised, I will be giving you a few taster images of my next strip project that I will be running, just like I have with Tales from 'Toonsville, over a six week period. But before that, there's the illustrated serialisation of the Sleepy Hamlet short story called Tora, Tora! And that starts a week next Friday.
Its all happening here at the Diary of a Cartoonist & Writer.
I sincerely hope you enjoyed this post. If you did then please share it like a demented sharing person and keep on coming back for more of the same, and a whole lot besides.
