Summer is finally here! And that means we have visions of gorgeous hikes, bountiful farmers markets, breezy beach days, relaxing vacations and warm strolls dancing in our heads. Whatever sunny adventures lie ahead for you this year, one thing is for certain: you’ll need some comfortable summer shoes to take you where you want to go!
At Softstar, comfort has always been one of the core tenants of our shoe designs. Here are just a few of the reasons why our shoes are so unbelievably comfortable:
- They’re soft: We use only the softest, highest quality leather (the word “soft” is in our name, after all!) to create a natural, barefoot feel. People say wearing our shoes is truly the next best thing to going barefoot, and even though they look stylish, wearing them feels like wearing slippers.

While flip-flops are the go-to sandal style for many summer adventurers, we’ve written before about how flip-flops are not the best choice for healthy feet. They can cause our foot and leg muscles to work in unnatural ways, which affects our gait. Plus, they may even contribute to foot deformities such as hammertoes over time. But never fear, we have sandal options for you!
Colorful Solstice sandals make summer days even brighter!
Our popular Solstice style brings the comfort and ease of sandals to a healthy, minimalist shoe. It’s a flexible, breathable shoe with an adjustable strap for just the right fit. More Comfy Summer Shoe Styles
The Merry Jane is another great shoe option for summer, as its strap gives it a bit of a “sandal” feel, but with a closed toe. The strap is adjustable to ensure you get the perfect fit. The Merry Jane is available in our signature premium full-grain aged whiskey brown leather, or you can design your own colors and trim styles with our Custom Merry Jane option.
The Ballerine is a comfortable summer favorite as well. This ballet flat effortlessly slips on and off, and it pairs perfectly with shorts, dresses and skirts. Some brands of ballet flats have a rigid back that can rub on your heel as you walk, causing pain and redness. Ours has a soft, comfortable heel and soft suede-covered memory foam innersoles. This style even comes in a “sport” version with two comfy elastic straps criss-crossing on the top, which work great for especially active people.
