Colourpop All Star Primer Review| Matte and Blur Primer

By Khadija Beauty @khadijabeauty3

Hello my lovely people out there!!! 😊

I personally love colourpop especially their lippie stix. There was a sale going on with free worldwide shipping on the colourpop site which tempted me to order something

πŸ™ˆ
I have always purchased international makeup from genuine Insta stores but never had the courage to order directly from the site. The sole reason for this was customs charges.

And not to be surprised I did end up paying some big chunk of money as Customs Duty. I don’t remember the exact amount but I paid half or more than half of the actual price of my order

πŸ™Š
Did I feel bad? YES. Will I ever try again ordering? Of course Not
πŸ˜‚
Because there’s an Insta store call instaglam_makeup who sells at a very closer price compared to the price on the site. So I will stick with Insta stores for now.

Ok so after this long back story, let me get into the review.

Colourpop All star Primer

Price:

I actually purchased it in a combo offer where we get this primer & makeup setting spray from All star range for $15 I guess. The price of this primer alone is $10

My experience with Colourpop All star Primer

How is the packaging?

I was completely flattered by its packaging. I love pastels and this primer came in a pastel pink tube with a white cap. Even the outer cardboard packaging was so impressive. They have dotted stars all over the outer package. The tube felt so good. It’s not like a regular plastic tube rather it has a soft matte finish to it.

But the size of this primer tube was a bit smaller than expected.

How is the color and smell?

This face primer is milky white in color. I couldn’t find any fragrance in it which is a big yay for sensitive skin people.

How is the texture and consistency of Colourpop All Star primer

The primer has a light cream like texture and semi-runny consistency.

Is this Colourpop All star Primer a good option? How effective is it?

Blending the primer is really very easy. And as it claims, it does give a matte finish. It gives a matte finish without making the skin dry, which is a good thing.

But then I couldn’t find this primer blurring out the pores at all. Like when you apply, it gives a minor blurring effect which fades away in 30 minutes or even before that. I don’t have very large pores, but beings from oily skin family I do have visible pores. This primer didn’t pass the test in hiding the pores at all.

The main reason for me to use a primer is to blur my pores so that the foundation doesn’t settle into the pores after a few hours. I was totally disappointed by this particular product from my favorite brand– colourpop

I don’t think it increases the staying power of makeup much like other drugstore primers too.

Overall I felt this Colourpop All star primer acts as a light hydrating matte moisturizer, nothing else.

Amazing things about Colourpop All Star primer

Cute & secure packaging

Gives a matte finish

Does not make the skin dry

Cons Colourpop All Star primer

Does not hide pores

Doesn’t give a smoothening effect

Small in size

Would I recommend?

I would not recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a primer to hide pores. I love primers because they give a beautiful smoothening effect upon which even just a compact looks good. But this primer didn’t give any such effect. I really had high hopes but it didn’t live up to my expectations.
