Maybelline Color Sensational Lipgloss - £6.19
When a product starts getting hyped up in the blogosphere, I find it pretty difficult to resist, and the tale goes exactly the same with these. It all started when Anna picked one up, then Suzie too, and soon every beauty blog was going crazy for them. It wasn't long till a couple ended up on my front door step. From a lipgloss hater to lover, these have truly converted me and I'm already looking at adding a couple more shades to my collection.
I got two colour, Cashmere Rose and Glorious Grapefruit (following the crowd, again, on these two choices but they both looked too pretty to choose anything else!) Cashmere Rose is a light beige-y, pink-y, peach that looks lovely worn over the top of a nude lip, and I can see it looking gorgeous with a bolder eye look. It does have a shimmer to it, but on the lips this just translatesto a nice sheen and is hardly noticeable. Glorious Grapefruit is a more intense version of the latter, so works better on its own, or paired with a coral toned lipstick.
Both impart a sheeny glow to the lips which is, miraculously, free of stick whilst still managing to be non-sticky or gloopy. The fruity scent is subtle and nice, in fact, I can't really think of one thing that I would change about them. Formula wise, these are meant to be pretty much identical to the Clarins Lip Perfectors, which are raved about everywhere, but at less than half the price, one thing's for sure, I will definitely be going back for more.
What about you, will you be picking one (or all) of these up?
