College Admissions: What Really Matters?

In our Homeschool, we are on the cusp of High School.  So many things to consider..... curriculum, transcripts, grades, AP or Honors courses, ACT or SAT preparation, volunteer hours, CLEP testing ....
It's mind boggling and a bit overwhelming!
When it comes down to it, besides guiding my child through their area of gifting and interest in preparation for life, I really wanted to know what colleges have to say about all of this.
