If we were chatting over coffee I would order an almond milk latte. I LIVED off of those last summer and I'm bringing that baby back...so good!
Where to begin?
Well, my diploma came in the mail! And I found out that I made the Dean's List last semester...YES!
Which brings me to my 2 new jobs! Yes, TWO! They're both part time so it's basically like a full time job, right? Next school year (so August) I will be working at a private school that serves students with learning disabilities as both an SLPA (speech-language pathology assistant) AND as a P.E. teacher. HELLO! How perfect for me?!
I'm so beyond pumped and a little bit terrified...but hey don't they say if what you're doing doesn't scare you to dream bigger or something? I'll be working with the SLP who I talked about in this post, and it's just further proof that putting yourself out there creates opportunities that otherwise wouldn't happen. I also start my part time graduate program in August...I better soak in sweet summertime before life gets CUHRAZY!
My new job kind of ties into the next thing...my new blog!
Don't worry, this one isn't going anywhere! I just wanted to create a separate space for all things speech related. I plan on documenting my grad school experiences, and I hope to one day create resources to share with other SLPs. I'm pretty proud of myself because I made the logo and put the whole website together...go check it out!
Let's see, what else?
I've still been practicing my hand lettering and a girlfriend reached out and asked if I would letter her daughter to-be's name on a mirror for her nursery. Of course I said YES! I have to say...I love how it turned out and I can't wait to see it in its new home!
Oh and see that plant up there? And this one?
Adam and I visited a new local nursery and bought those two pretties. Here's to me not killing them! After cleaning out our house last week, I ditched a lot of decor that didn't feel like it brought us value. I wanted to replace some of it with a few live plants to make our space feel warm and welcoming.
Here's where the other one lives now. This space is where I do my morning prayer + meditation, gratitude journal writing, and reading. I'm mildly obsessed with my morning rituals.
Speaking of mornings...
I've been trying to practice yoga + stretching for 10-30 minutes a few days a week. I'm a super newbie when it comes to yoga, but I'm really enjoying it. It's been so great not only physically but mentally. That video is a quick flow that I did one morning this week!
Okay I think that's enough rambling for one post. I'm gonna go watch OITNB with Adam...we don't know how we feel about this new season and we're like 4 episodes in. We shall see!
What would you tell me if we were chatting over coffee?xo, Jess
