The chart above was made from results of a recent Gallup Poll -- done between December 30th and January 14th of a random national sample of 800 Democrats and Democratic leaners, with a margin of error of 4 points.
This survey helps to explain why Hillary Clinton continues to lead Bernie Sanders on the national stage. Clinton has a net favorability (favorable minus unfavorable) of 57%, while Sanders has a net favorability of 48%. That's a fairly significant difference of 9 points.
Sanders is viewed more favorably by two groups -- a 23 point edge among those 18 to 29, and a 6 point edge among whites. Men are split between the two candidates (with Clinton's 3 point edge being within the margin of error). All other groups have a significantly higher net favorability for Clinton.
