My client work is seasonal. I work all year round but there are pockets on times throughout the year where it gets busier. These times are typically at the beginning of spring and fall. With the weather being as unpredictable as it has been in New York, like a Nor'easter in March one week after 60 degree temperatures, my local clients have been hibernating longer than usual. My virtual client work has been a little busier, but, generally speaking, things are only starting to pick up. That said, I don't have a lot of client purchases to share with you, but I still wanted to point out a few things that clients have been interested in.
Client Purchases in March
Below you will find some of my client purchases made in March. This isn't everything. Sadly, some things are sold out or impossible to find online. I was able to pull together a few things that you might be interested in.
Nic + Zoe: Garanimals for adults
- Lace Linen Blend Cardigan 2. 'Perfect' Tank 3. Vivid Dot Silk Top 4. Picasso Linen Blend Cardigan 5. Plaid Tank 6. Fiore Twirl Fit & Flare Dress 7. Four-Way Convertible Cardigan 8. '4-Way' Convertible Three Quarter Sleeve Cardigan 9. Perfect Pants 10. The Perfect Ankle Pants
It is with affection that I refer to Nic + Zoe as Garanimals for adults. If you are old for Nic + Zoe to appeal to you then you are old enough to remember Garanimals. If you don't know this reference, Garanimals was popular childrenswear line in the 70's that had tags with different animals on the clothing. To make mix-and-match outfits, all you had to do was match the animals on the tags. All the monkeys went together, tigers, and so on.
I call Nic + Zoe Garanimals for adults because they produce such cohesive mix-and-match capsules that even the biggest of outfit dunces can figure it out. In addition to their tight and easy to navigate collections, they offer a truly wearable grouping of clothing with just enough trend while selling their classic items, like their Four Way Cardigan, Perfect Tank and Perfect Pants, seasonally. One of my clients, who travels a lot for work, walked out with a night tight packable group, and some other clients picked up a few pieces for their closets. That's the beauty of this line, you can shop it deep or just pick up a few staples.
Dresses
It's so frustrating when a client buys something and I can't find it online. I searched everywhere online for this Erin Fetherston dress that my client purchased for a wedding. If you see it in a store it is worth checking out.
Other dresses that were bought this month that I could find online include the black after-five style by La Petite Robe di Chiara Boni. This is one of the classic styles and I have yet to meet a woman who doesn't look stunning in it. Quite a few of my clients own it and it comes in gown as well as cocktail length above shown above. While formal, the dress is also conveniently packable and just slips over the head.
The dress on the right by MICHAEL Michael Kors was bought by a client for work. What's great about it is it's a novelty basic. Despite the navy and white printed trim, the dress can be treated like a solid navy style and worn with a variety of colors.
Tops
In addition to some of the Nic + Zoe tops featured earlier, these are some of the tops bought by clients. The first is this Vince blouse in ivory, the second a basic Three Dots scoop t-shirt, and the last one of my favorite blouses from T Tahari, the Edie blouse.
Pants
On the search for jeans for one of my clients, I recommended this boyfriend pair from Liverpool. The fit was perfect and definitely a brand definitely worth checking out. Next, this cuffed khaki pair from J. Crew. Interestingly, they were perfect on one client and a disaster on another. The third pair from Vince Camuto also comes in shocking pink. My client almost fell over when I selected them for her in the hot pink color, then remembered why she hires me when the they didn't look as bad as she thought they would. However, for versatility, we went with the white instead. Lastly, these grapefruit pink pants, also from Vince Camuto. Be warned, they're much brighter in person.
Jackets and cardigans
Combining jackets and cardigans together, I am starting with this Tommy Hilfiger tweed moto jacket that one client bought for work and weekend. The next cardigan from Theory is the perfect spring layering piece for over sleeveless tops and dresses. I particularly like the yarn used in this style. It's a a fine gauge viscose yarn that has substance and stands up well. Lastly, for super casual, a client fell in love with this hooded wrap from Athleta for weekend.
Shoes
Moving on to shoes. The first style, the Ruby flat by Sam Edelman was incredibly popular last season so I was thrilled to see its return. Quite a few clients have already purchased it. The second style is the Sadie open toe wedge from Cole Haan which is quite similar to their Tali style that was so popular with my clients last spring. I selected the Felicia flat from Sam Edelman in turquoise when a client and I agreed it would be a perfect pop color for her wardrobe. The navy slingbacks from Anne Klein were purchased by a client who needed a pair of navy shoes. As most Anne Klein shoes, this pair is incredibly comfortable and wearable. The Sam Edelman heeled peep toe sandals have been so popular. I am predicting this pair to be one of the stand out styles with many clients this season. The blush pumps from Jessica Simpson were purchased with my client to go with the Erin Fetherston dress she wore to the wedding. Lastly, these super comfortable summer wedge sandals from Clarks. My client asked for a pair of sandals she could walk in and found these to be perfect.
I hope you found this quick peek at some of the purchases made by my clients this past month. Stay tuned in the coming months for more.
