“Could you do a project for us where you use the pre-release version of the 55-200mm lens at a concert and we use your pictures and film you and make a promotion movie out of it?” Such was the request from Fuji, back in May 2013. Luckily, I came fresh from a month long Mad and Magic movie shoot and was very trained in being stalked by a camera and posing like a diva!
The CLICK festival were nice and helpful and allowed us full acess to shoot and film, so the scene was set. I donned my Beyond movie star jacket, boots, jackets and sunnies and Claus the Videoguy from Fuji stalked me for a full evening. “You seem to have done this before” he replied observing my posing. “Yes, quite the movie star diva by now !”
I know, you are on the edge of your seats, no more talking, here is the final movie from Fuji:
Yes, yes I know. Really bad idea to record the voiceover “early” in the morning, not quite awake yet. Sounds like I have inhaled a fair bit of vegetable matter. My diva posing is perfect though even if a few of the most over the top diva scenes ended up on the cutting room floor – darn!

I strugled a bit with the lens at times, the festival was in a pitch black room with only the projections on screen as a light source and the minimum aperture of 3.5 was not as fast as I would like. Neither was the temperamental focus of the pre-release version. And I had access to stand right next to the artist, but constantly had to back away to use this big zoom instead of my preferred fast 18mm and 35mm prime lenses. I know, grumpypants. Also, I am a big diva. Gotta complain, it’s what us stars do. I will be in my trailer.
Thanks to everyone at Fuji Denmark and Claus the Video guy and the Click festival and the artists – It was FUN!
