Cleaning.

Cleaning.
Cleaning my makeup brushes is both a chore and something that I really love to do, for me, it's a Sunday evening job which is put off until the last moment possible, and then once I start, I actually quite enjoy it. It always astounds me how many people don't wash their makeup brushes at all, I know people who have never washed their foundation brushes, and it doesn't quite make sense to me how you can complain about bad skin if you are buffing a slew of bacteria into your skin everyday (disgusting image - I apologise). It's bad enough when you think what comes off your face after a good cleanse at the end of the day, but just imagine that festering and multiplying and then being slapped on day after day, it's just a little bit gross and it's never going allow you to achieve glowing, flawless skin, is it?
To keep my brushes clean, I generally try to give them a deep clean every one to two weeks (depending on how much I have used them) to ensure that they are truly cleansed and from day to day I like to put some makeup remover on a little cotton pad and swirl them around in it as a little spot cleaner. This means that product doesn't build up and I'm using something relatively clean everyday.
Deep cleaning couldn't really be any simpler, and it isn't really the faff that a lot of people make it out to be. All you need to do is put some shampoo in your hand, swirl the brush around it, wash the brush off and then repeat until the water runs clear. I like to use baby shampoo because it makes the bristles all nice and soft and smell nice and after it's all done I just leave them on a towel to dry or blow-dry them (yes, I really just said that) if I need them in a hurry. Simples.
How do you clean your makeup brushes?
