A few weeks ago, C, N and I saw the West End production of Wicked in Solaire. As has been our habit, we met up in Blue Bay Walk so we could eat dinner first before catching the show. Why, you ask? Because the restaurants in Solaire are still way over our price range, LOL.

It’s only the third time I’ve eaten at this food chain (the first was at the Ecoplaza building in Chino Roces while before I saw Red Turnip’s Cock) but, man am I hooked.

" p70-a="p70-a" />It had already been a couple of years since we first ate in this particular branch (I forget which show we saw in Solaire) and not only did they move locations; they’ve also vastly improved the decors. The “before” image I remember in my head could have been described as ‘mildly middle eastern inspired’ in the sense that only the wooden chairs really gave out the vibe of the inspiration. Now though, there was absolutely no mistaking the vibe they were going for.

" data-orig-size="2005,3584" p70-a="p70-a" />I especially like the sheer curtains that separated the different booths and even the curtain holder was blinged out Jasmine (from Disney’s Aladdin) style. I didn’t get to take a photo of the bathroom but even the design of the tiles stuck to the theme.

" p70-a="p70-a" />mmm, butterFor this particular outing, we all unofficially agreed that there would be none of that diet talk; it was rice or nothing. I had the Chelo Kebab Makhsos (395php), which was a set meal that included Perisan rice, grilled tomato, yogurt dip, and a skewer each of grilled beef tenderloin and grilled beef kebab. C had the Grilled Norwegian Salmon (395php) that came with a serving of long grain rice and a side of vegetables. N had the Grilled Tuna Belly (299php) that came with a serving each of pita bread and long grain rice plus a small salad.
Serving sizes were excellent and unlike before, the ambiance has definitely improved. No longer do they play obnoxiously loud music and the wait staff, while attentive, backed off enough to give us some privacy so we could catch up.
