Excellent Customer Service from Boozy.ph

By Saicho18

I don’t usually post about online delivery services, but I figured that I should make an exception for Boozy.ph because they have truly provided one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time.

When the pandemic started, the delivery and transport service business understandably took off.  I mostly stick to the basics – foodpanda, Lazada, and the occasional grab – because I only ever needed to order food and random crap that you can buy from divisorial.

However, last month, the operations manager for our section was leaving the department and we found ourselves in a bind because we didn’t quite know what to give him as a parting gift.  One of the senior managers in Beijing suggested that we could give a good bottle of wine but since literally nobody in the team knew how to differentiate a good bottle from a bad one, we kind of placed that suggestion on the back burner.

I told my colleague in Beijing that if only there were more of us in the section who could split the bill, I would have loved to give a relatively expensive bottle of whisky as a remembrance just so that he could reminisce (and maybe hopefully have a laugh) about his experiences and stresses while working for the department.  I figured that even if the dude wasn’t a whisky drinker, if the bottle was more on the higher end of the price range, he wouldn’t feel as comfortable giving it away, you know?

Luckily, this colleague had an in with one of the senior managers and she relayed this idea.  Even luckier, the manager liked the idea and said that she can have the senior managers in Beijing pitch in as well.  I consulted the Boozy.ph store on foodpanda, but it appears that they only had a limited selection of items available on there.  So, I headed to Boozy.ph and saw the enormous list of whiskies that were available.  Again, because I am an uncouth person, I relayed the list of brands to Beijing who chose a respectable brand for me to buy.

Now, because I am an idiot and committed the cardinal mistake of Not Reading The Fine Print, I didn’t realize that bottles like the Balvenie 12yo Single Barrel were only available for next-day deliveries.  Having already paid, I panicked because the farewell event was set at ten in the morning the following day and I really thought that I could get it delivered on the same day that I ordered it.

With cold sweat trickling down my back, I sent an email to their customer service who, I kid you not, replied within five minutes.  I explained my situation and offered to pay for the additional delivery fee (Boozy.ph offers free delivery within Metro Manila for orders above 2,000PHP) just so I could get it delivered within the day, but they were adamant that it couldn’t be done.  Bottles like the one that I ordered were stored at a warehouse somewhere and can only be retrieved when they’re out for delivery.  I knew that I had no other choice but to agree, but I basically promised eternal gratitude if they could deliver the item before 10 AM the following morning.

The customer service representative who I was speaking to said that she noted it down and that they will try their best.  I forwarded the email trail to my colleague in Beijing who said that we would just have to push and try to extend if the time of the event until the item has been secured.

The following day, I sent an email to Boozy.ph’s customer service as soon as I got into the office (8 freakin’ AM) and again, it took them less than ten minutes to respond.  The customer service representative I spoke with said that they have advised the warehouse and that the rider has been instructed to do my delivery first before the other orders.

Lo, and behold!  It was a few minutes after 9 when I got the notification that the Boozy.ph rider was outside our office.  It was a miracle!  When I picked up the order, I commented to the rider that it was awesome that they were able to meet the 10 AM deadline and he said that it’s a one-off, since they usually start doing their deliveries at 10 in the morning.

I was so touched that Boozy.ph was kind enough to adjust their delivery hours just to accommodate my request and they didn’t even charge for the delivery fee!  I was more than happy to pay for an additional charge since I knew that it was my mistake for ordering so late and that I was being unreasonable.

Thanks to Boozy.ph and their excellent team, we were able to hold the leaving do event on time and both the leaving operations manager and the senior managers in Beijing were happy with the gift.

I cannot recommend Boozy.ph enough if ever you need to order drinks for any kind of event, they will really go the extra mile for their customers.  Cheers to Boozy.ph!
