Maybe you are having a cookout, bonfire, camping, or just enjoying a peaceful night relaxing on the porch swing . Then, out of nowhere those pesky mosquitoes come along to ruin your good time. When the weather gets warm these party crashers come out in droves! Well, Nature’s Garden has the perfect solution, Citronella Fragrance Oil! You can put it in a candle, lotion, or even a body spray. Our citronella scent will be a great addition to any of you homemade craft recipes.
What Does Citronella Fragrance Oil Smell Like?
This fragrance oil by Natures Garden is reminiscent of a wild Indonesian Herb used to keep bugs away.

How Do Our Customers Use Citronella Fragrance Oil?
There are a variety of craft recipes that can be created using our citronella scent. First, many of our customers use Citronella Fragrance Oil in their homemade lotions, creams and body sprays. Our maximum recommended usage rate for these type of products is 5%. Room scenters can use up to 50% in homemade potpourri, reed diffusers, oil burners, and incense projects. Of course, strongly scented aroma beads can also be created.
Candle crafters can add up to 10% of our Citronella Fragrance Oil in their homemade candle or wax tart recipes when using a paraffin wax or vegetable wax. If you would like to color your candles or homemade tarts we suggest dying it green. You can use two drops of green Spectrum Liquid Candle dye per four pounds. If color blocks are more up your alley, you can shred a small amount of a green color block into your melted wax. Since we are often asked about using crayons as a candle colorant, crayons should not be used as a replacement for candle dyes in your candles. They will clog your wick. Gel wax is not compatible with our straight citronella scent. However, if you are wanting to make a citronella candle using get wax, try our Lime Citronella Fragrance Oil.
Those making soap can use this citronella fragrance oil at a maximum recommendation of 5% to create wonderfully scented handcrafted soaps. It can be used in cold process soap, hot process, or melt and pour soaps. Our cold process soap testing results for this citronella scent found no ricing, no acceleration, no separation, and no discoloration after cure. It maintains a good scent retention. When making other other bath and body products such as bath oils, bath bombs, and bath gels, we have found our Citronella Fragrance Oil works great when using a maximum recommendation of 5% fragrance oil. To color body products we recommend that you use green soap colorant in the amount to achieve the shade that satisfies you. Never use candle dye in any body products.
