English band Circa Waves follow the easy route on their new single Like You Did Before, a throwback to the mainstream version of poppy New Wave that was all the rage in the 80s. Boys meets girl, things go wrong, he wants her back, yup, it's all done before. One memorable line in the lyrics - "Kill me now with a look I haven't seen before" - can not save it from mediocrity and the coda that could have been interesting fizzles out like a candle in the rain.
