Hi Shimmers!
The lovely Laura asked me if I'd like to write a Christmas themed post for her blog and of course I said yes, I'm all about Christmas time. I thought it would be nice to share some of my favorite things about this time of year.
Presents: The most important thing! I like getting presents at Christmas time as much as the next person. What I love most though is giving presents to my family and seeing their little faces light up when they open them. There really is nothing like it, especially if it's a homemade gift. Always a winner in my house!
Winter warmers: Don't you just love getting wrapped up in loads of layers so you’re all snug. Give me a massive wool jumper and chunky boots over a floaty dress any day. I love all the big knits and fur jackets in the shop at this time of year not to mention the gorgeous scarf and glove sets, heaven.
Stockings: This is something I've gotten since I was a baby and my sisters and I still insist on one every year from my mom and dad. My one is a homemade knitted stunner with my name on and as a bonus it stretches loads so it always gets packed with goodies! I still get a toothbrush, chocolate coins and an apple and tangerine.
Wrapping Paper: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE wrapping presents. As sad as it sounds this gets me seriously excited, I have a need to make everything perfectly wrapped - no scruffy corners on my pressies. The paper has to be color co-ordinated with the bows and ribbon too. John Lewis is my favorite store for buying wrapping goodies.
Snow: Who doesn’t adore snow? It makes everything look so magical and special. I love having snowball fights and winter wouldn’t be complete without a few snow angels. I’m wishing for a white Christmas this year and keeping all my fingers and toes crossed.
