Hi everyone,
With so many cleansing brushes having hit the market in the past 2 years, it can be hard to decide just which one to try because there are so many options out there! Today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on 4 different brushes and letting you know who I would recommend each brush too!
PuraSonic Classic Cleansing Brush* – $129.00. Replacement Brush Heads – $19.95 to $24.95 each. I’d recommend it to: Everyone.
The Purasonic uses sonic oscillating technology and the brush head provides 300 movements per second to deliver a deep clean. The product comes with 2 brush heads in the box – one for normal skin and one for sensitive skin and the brush heads are firm but still gentle and non-irritating. The waterproof device is one that needs to be recharged about once a month. The unit has 3 speeds, easily identifiable with coloured lights and with a fantastic built in 1 minute timer, the brush buzzes at 20 seconds, 40 seconds and then twice at 10 second intervals to coincide with how long you should use the brush for each facial area (forehead, chin and cheeks). My skin looks and feels deeply cleansed and smooth after use and it effectively removes any makeup residue and clears out my blocked pores.
Olay {Va-Va-Vivid!} Powered Contour Cleansing System – $16.99. I’d recommend it to: Teen Skin or those with Sensitive Skin.
This battery operated cleansing brush is very compact, can stand upright thanks to its flat base and being from the Fresh Effects line, is great for younger or teen skin because of how gentle it is. The brush head features soft and flexible rubber bristles which keeps the system hygienic, seeing as there are no replacement heads available. With a powerful vibration, the bristles are gentle at cleansing and removing makeup, dirt and grime from the surface of the skin. I really like the triangular shaped head which makes it easier to navigate on and around problem areas (such as the nose). Unfortunately on my skin, I found that the bristles were too thick to really clear out my pores and provide a deep cleanse.
Ultraderm Skin Renew Cleansing Brush* – $79.95. Replacement Brush Heads – $19.95 each. I’d recommend it to: Everyone and especially those with Sensitive Skin.Unlike other brush heads, this product features densely packed ultra-fine anti-bacterial bristles. With a light, slim design and a rectangular head, this brush is easy to use and produces results. Also coming with a stand for easy storage, the battery operated and waterproof brush is ultra-soft and because of its very thin hairs, the soft sonic vibrations really help to clear the skin and its pores. My skin is left feeling smooth and supple whilst my pores are noticeably cleansed, with a reduction in the appearance of blackheads on my nose. I have reviewed this brush in full, here.
Olay Regenerist Advanced Cleansing System – $34.99. Replacement Brush Heads – $10.99 for 2. I’d recommend it to: Everyone.
I purchased this brush just as it began hitting the market and for its price, it is a fantastic cleansing brush if you’re looking for an affordable and effective option. Unlike the others which work on vibrations, the brush head on this waterproof unit actually rotates and so it relies on movement to cleanse the skin. The brush head is firm but still gentle on the skin and with 2 speeds to choose from, it caters for a wide range of skin types (for a gentler cleanse, go for the slower speed and vice versa). Being battery operated, you can easily store in in the shower without worrying about charging it. It leaves the skin feeling deeply cleansed and smooth with no irritation at all. It is also great to use to remove any makeup left behind on the skin after using a makeup wipe or cleanser.
