Through the limestone, the river Aare carved a 1.4 km long gorge in the last 10,000 years: time to pay a visit to it! Choose your favourite(s) point(s) of view by clicking the picture(s) you like.
The first picture series is from the gorge west side, where you have to slip through a 2 meter-wide crack in the stone.
The walk is perfect in summer, when the sun is high and light comes into the gorge revealing all the colours of stones and water. After some hundred meters and a few tunnels the gorge opens.
This gorge in summer is also a very convenient place to escape heatwave. You can reach your starting point by train or on foot the other way back.
