Chocolate.
By this stage of building up my makeup collection I definitely have far too many neutral makeup palettes for my own good, but I just can't help myself from adding more. Those of you who can, teach me your will-powered ways. After being impressed with the amazing quality and price of Zoeva's brushes, I've started to add more of their makeup to the mix, and they've really been impressing me. Their original palette is one of my favourites, but the newest option - the Cocoa Blend Palette - is where it's at for me.
Inspired by a rich box of chocolates, the package looks so luxurious and really reflects this theme. I'm usually not overly wowed by cardboard packaging, but in this case it does seem to work, and for only £15.50 for all ten shades you can't really complain. Plus there's a generous amount of shadow in each pot. The palette contains a mixture of finishes including; matte, satin, metallic, duo chrome, pearl and matte with glitter and a lovely rich warm toned feel to the majority of the shadows.
In terms of the shades, I don't think there's even one in there that won't be getting a lot of use from me. Here's a quick run-down of them all:
Bitter Start: bone cream white matte
Sweeter End: lilac-y/peach duochrome with a shimmer finish
Warm Notes: warm metallic cranberry which will be stunning for the winter months
Subtle Blend: taupe chocolate brown with shimmer finish
Beans Are White: darker matte chocolate brown
Pure Ganache: golden orange brown with shimmer finish
Substitute For Love: warm, orangey brown with a matte finish
Freshly Toasted: brick red brown matte
Infusion: dark brown black matte with shimmer
Delicate Acidity: lilac toned brown with a satin shimmer finish
They all have a lovely pigmented finish, buttery feel to them, and stay put really well even without the use of a primer. If neutral palettes are your thang, and you fancy adding to the line-up with a few out of the ordinary shades, then this one's for you. For anyone else, the 'need' factor isn't perhaps quite there but it's definitely one to think about adding to the wishlist. Just looking at it makes my mouth water ...
What do you think of this palette?
