It’s interesting how new school fundraising trends and ideas develop. Companies, schools and causes are developing inter-relationships that benefit everyone. We are seeing more inter connectivity between groups like spiderwebs where traffic is generated, money is exchanged and donations are given. Solid marketing and sales for companies which equals more donations for school fundraising.
This summer the ideas seem to revolve around drinking (read into that… healthy drinking) for a cause. Check out our post earlier this summer on Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Well Maui Wowi is a gourmet coffe and smoothie company that are plugging in to support school fundraising at the community level. Maui Wowi christened the fundraising campaign the No-Work FUNdraiser, a relaxing and refreshing way to give back. The franchisee sets up a mobile stand at a local school and offers their all natural fruit smoothies to students and staff. With the corporate donation campaign, Maui Wowi franchisees currently donate thousands of dollars to local schools and other non-profit organizations in their community.
Erin Hicks, Executive Vice President for Maui Wowi Hawaiian had this to say of the companies FUNdraising:
We have recently implemented a new feature in our reporting system that keeps a running total of how much money our franchisees have contributed to help raise funds that go towards deserving causes throughout their communities. Since it began in June, our franchise system has given back more than $14,000 in donations. The reporting system may be new, but giving back is something our franchisees have been doing for years and for many of them, it is the cornerstone of their business.
I’m sure this will be a hit not only based on fighting the scorching summer heat but also on the win-win situation for the schools and community projects involved. We wish Maui-Wowi the best with this idea. So support your local community and kick back with a healthy cold one this summer.
If you want help with your fundraising this year don’t forget that we offer school fundraising programs.
