Children’s Christmas Book Review: "Santa’s (Zany, Wacky, Just Not Right!) Night Before Christmas," by DK Simoneau and David Radman

By Parentingauthor @ParentingAuthor
Have you ever been stressed about an upcoming event and had a dream the night before that everything went wrong? Well, that’s the scenario that happens to Santa Claus as he ponders the giant task ahead of him on Christmas Eve. With Mrs. Santa sick in bed, Santa washes his own suit and turns it purple! That sets off a series of misfortunate events: elves become 7-foot trolls; Christmas trees turn brown; reindeer turn blue and have silly names like Scooter; and even the snow has turned pink! Christmas is ruined, and it’s all because Santa turned his suit purple. Thank goodness, Santa finds when he arises that it was all just a bad dream. Mrs. Claus is healthy, with red suit in hand, and Santa and his elves are ready to deliver toys to good girls and boys. But, just to be sure that all continues to go as planned, Santa whispers to Mrs. Claus, “From now on, dear, you wash the clothes”!

Santa’s (Zany, Wacky, Just Not Right!) Night Before Christmas is a fun, frolicking adventure that will have children laughing and imagining the endless possibilities of what would happen if everything went wrong for Santa! And I loved how Santa realized that his wife is such a valuable member of his team! The illustrations by Brad Cornelius are colorful and endearing, perfectly capturing the silliness of a Christmas gone wrong. Pick up a copy of this book to read with your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and all the kids in your life. Make it an annual tradition in anticipation of Santa’s arrival!
