About the book:
From the creator of the Honest Toddler blog, The Big Bed is a humorous picture book about a girl who doesn't want to sleep in her little bed, so she presents her dad with his own bed -- a camping cot! -- in order to move herself into her parents' big bed in his place. A twist on the classic parental struggle of not letting kids sleep in their parents' bed.
My thoughts:
I broke out in giant guffaws several times while reading The Big Bed by Bunmi Laditan! I challenge any parent to keep a straight face while reading this to the kiddos. I love how the little girl takes a cue from the adults and tries to soften the blow to Daddy that he's getting pushed out of the bed by flattering him first. "You're ... very gifted at the art of the horsie ride." And when she tells him that she needs Mommy more because he already has a mom, who can argue with that logic? But when she brings up the "pee-pee" issue, I almost peed my own pants from laughter and toddler flashbacks. (I kid you not.) Enough spoilers from me ... just get this book! I promise you it will become a new family favorite.
