Cherry Sour – Red Collar Brewing

By Mike @mikescraftbeer

From Red Collar Brewing in Kamloops in the Thompson Okanagan comes their "Cherry Sour". The beer pours a very light pink colour with a white head. The aroma is fairly mild but has signs of cherries and tartness and possibly a hint of malt. The flavour is a bit understated but is of cherries, tartness, some bready malts and some lemon. The finish is really dry with alcohol content of 7% with an IBU of 10. This beer drinks like a session ale but has a higher alcohol content so you need to be careful of this beer. It is a great intro beer to sour beers though as it does not have a huge sourness to it.

Commercial Description: A kettle soured ale fermented on tart red cherries. This light bodied beer has fruity aromas with a subtle blend of sweet and tart flavours. Show restraint and responsibility, this is a strong ale.Unfiltered, vegan friendly, and naturally carbonated.
