Did you know that New Jersey has more cherry blossom trees than Washington DC? I know because I read it here, and if you live in New Jersey, have you noticed a lot more flowering trees this year, or is it just me? I definitely see them more in my area, so I definitely believe this article. I mean the Cherry Blossom Festival at Branch Brook Park has been celebrating these amazingly beautiful trees for many years now, and each year it becomes an even more beautiful spectacle to see, come springtime.
If you live on the east coast, you know how dreadful this winter was and how it somehow is still lingering. I mean it’s the end of April, practically May – yeah I know can you believe that too – but most of the trees were just budding, when normally they would be flowering. But the same goes for most of our gardens. These last two weekends have really been the first that we’ve been able to plant into the ground, without fearing it would become too cold at night, especially for newly planted plants.
