Cheese & Bacon Salad Bento Lunch Box Meal!

By Pepper Bento

Good afternoon boys and girls!

This week I’ve made a tasty little bento box for your eyes to absorb.
Unfortunately for you, I can’t transmit the taste but I assure you it was delicious and I’m afraid you’ll just have to believe me!

This bento was lovingly helped with by my hubby without which I wouldn’t have been able to make something I am proud of.
I have to confess that the lack of interaction and interest for Pepper Bento over the last couple of years has sucked much of the inspiration and motivation right out of me, especially as I suffer from depression to start with.

As for the bento, I used my absolutely gorgeous Waon Bento Box to house a pretty little salad and even managed to squeeze in some dessert!

I cooked up some lovely smoked bacon and chopped it into handsomely chunky pieces, I added a salad of pretty Lambs lettuce and Ruby chard though the taste was rather bitter, not a taste I like at all.

To offset the bitterness though and make those evil leaves edible, the bacon comes to the rescue as well as a generous amount of gorgeous Spring onions and some grated mature cheddar.

The bacon and cheddar are in their own little compartments to be taken out and sprinkled over the top of the salad.
I also made some honey balsamic vinaigrette to accompany it which went into a cute little pot made by Polar Gear.

For dessert I lightly mashed the innards of some ripe Kiwi fruit for a leafy sort of background and cut an apple piece into a ladybird-esc decoration.
The skin was so vibrant, pretty and really caught my eye and made me think of ladybirds straight away!
