The exquisitely psychadelic MGMT released this new track on Record Store Day as a cassingle then graciously posted it the web to everyone’s ecstatic delight. The lead vocalist, VanWyngarden, says the song is ”about that feeling when a parasitic alien is in your head, controlling things.”, and this totally makes sense upon listening to the screwy but savory track. “Alien Days” is a track from their forthcoming third full-length expected later this year which is said to be weirder, synth-heavier and not meant to be “music that everyone understands the first time they hear it”. We can’t wait.
