Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips Review & Swatches

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox
Getting a Charlotte Tilbury parcel is a bit like waking up on Christmas morning when the parcels get ripped open faster than the wrappers from a tin of Quality Street. When a PR parcel arrived through my door one day, I was majorly excited to find some of the new Hollywood Lips matte liquid lipsticks amongst the items.

I was already a big fan of the Matte Revolution range (Red Carpet Red is GORGEOUS!) and so to hear that CT had released a Matte liquid lipstick which was designed to contour the lips, I was desperate to get my mitts on some - so, Thanks Charlotte Tilbury!
I was sent two shades to try out - Platinum Blonde & Rising Star, so I thought it was only fair to show you some swatches and give my genuine thoughts.

First off, let's talk about the doe foot applicator. This has a strange shape which is designed to contour the shape of your lips. For me, this looks like how my favorite lipstick looks after I've used it a good few times. Curved and pointed at the top. I was a little bit sceptical about just how well this would shape my lips but actually, as long as you ensure you don't have too much product gathered at the tip of the wand, this easily lines the lips.
Because of the velvetty texture of these, you hardly need a mirror to apply them. They feel really comfortable on the lips and apply with the same ease as a lip balm.
I don't know about you, but I always find matte lipsticks layer really badly, they feel a bit rough and look uneven. With the Hollywood Lips, I found they layered really nicely which was a happy change.
Rising Star is a pink toned nude and is my favorite shade of nude. Platinum blonde is a brown toned nude which is lovely, but for me, unless you have really white teeth, it can look a little unflattering.
Have you tried the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips? Let me know your thoughts below!
