Charity Starts With A Blog

By Parentingsmh @parentingsmh
I'm a giver.  Really, I am.  I frequently donate clothes and household items to the Goodwill and Salvation Army.
I'm even planning on donating my wedding gown, I mean  it's been almost 4 years now.  I think it's safe to say there are no do-overs pending (I think, and if there is, I'll need a  new dress anyway).
I even donate old cell phones, pretty much every two years when I upgrade and get my free phone. (I'm Clueless "Mom", not shopper, you're not getting me to pay $400 for a phone).
I've even THOUGHT about coordinating my own charity event.  It's just the type of gal I am.
Scratch that.  It's just the type of gal I was.
Yep.  I'm flipping the script (that's a little NY for ya) and getting off the sidelines.  What?  You thought I was going to stop giving?
Not at all.  This here blog and all the fabulous bloggers and women I've met so far have inspired me to up my game, my blog, and my awesome.
That's why when I heard the Annapolis Food Link was low on supplies, I couldn't stop myself.  I knew it was the right time and the right thing to do.   I would organize a Food Drive.
Charity Starts With A BlogWithin a week I had agreements from two local business to participate and become drop off locations.  Then there were four.
For the next two weeks I'll be tweeting, facebooking, blogging, and doing whatever else to collect as much food as  I can for the Annapolis Food Link.

Four great local business, Lotus Therapeutic Massage, Chevy's Fresh Mex, Zu Coffee, and Play and Learn Play Center have opened their doors and jumped at the opportunity to serve their community.

I couldn't do it without their help.
So, I know I'm not the only one with a passion for getting involved and serving my community.  How do you give back?  Share your story with our readers and let's inspire each other to get involved.
